Half Moved Out!

September27

Yesterday I moved half of my personal belongings to the location that they’ll reside until I’m ready to move on board Towpath Townie.  It’s odd because my house doesn’t look half empty… being that I’m leaving all the furniture, lamps, crockery etc means that it’ll look more like a ‘house for rent’ than one that’s just been vacated.

I’ve also had delivered a new logo that I commissioned from John Reeves – a likeness of myself that I’ll integrate with my other website.  I’m going to commission him to do one of me and Lottie on our NB once I’ve taken charge of it.  Good isn’t he!

I think this is now the last few days in the house that’s been my home for the best part of 8 years.  And I wont miss any of it! :)

Boat Fitter Chosen!

September23

carpenterI’ve received several ‘estimates’ for the re-fit of my boat and am pleased to say that I’ve chosen Myram Carpentry.

Not only did he respond to my initial email request with a reply confirming receipt he was also the only one to provide a detailed estimate including exact charges for his time and also provided fabulous plan drawings of what he intends to do.

Well impressed was I!  So, that’s why he’s got my business.  Of course, I’ll be updating this blog once the work begins and I hope to provide ‘along the way’ photographs of ‘then’ & ‘now’ :)

Signed contracts received by the Conveyancer so completion looking good for a week’s time!  Not counting my chickens yet though… anything could happen but I’m remaining optimistic as I absolutely hate pessamism! :D

A Step Closer!

thelegalhouseAren’t these days wonderful!  I mean, only recently we were still using snail mail and telephones to conduct our business, now all the information we want is available via the internet freeing up valuable time for the lawyers to get on with their job instead of answering phone calls from their clients.  It appears, according to my on-line advisor, that the contract is on the way to me for signing!
