Galley goes in…

October24

Received another update from my boat-fitter today (thank you!) with some further photographic evidence of my boats metamorphosing beautification :D

Isn’t it exciting! \o/  Can’t wait for the next update!  Them there curtains will be replaced with blinds I think.

Our First Day!

October10

Towpath TownieWe set off early from Poole for the 1½ journey to our new Narrow Boat – Towpath Townie!  We arrived to find Jill in a very industrious state moving the rest of her belongings off the boat with the help of her pretty Daughter, Ellen.

I accompanied Jill to the Marina Office to finalise the hand-over and paid my mooring fee’s up front to the very laid back Jimmy.  A short walk back to the  boat where I’d left Bryan from Myram Carpentry taking measurements now that the boat was empty.  We had a good old chin-wag about the work he was to commence.  He and his lovely Wife had some great ideas and I was more than happy (and confident) to give them the full reigns with regard to the work.

The trouble they’d gone to in providing a folder of the project that housed plans, quotes and individual product information was very professional.  I was extremely impressed!  In fact, I am ever so confident that my boat is in very good hands and that he’ll do a grand job.

It’s my plan to visit the boat every one to two weeks to take progression photographs.  Below are ones taken today as the ‘before’ shots… more will follow :D

On the way home we swung into a cycle shop and came out with two new mountain bikes lol.  Well, Lottie and I will be able to cycle up the towpath’s and into Town without having to get the car out.  And of course, if we’re actually cruising, we can leave the boat and go exploring by bike!  Sorted :)

HOW EXCITING!!!!! :D
