Bryan’s steaming ahead and it’s all just too bloody well perfect!
Bless him, he’s photographed my finished seating and Lottie and I are as pleased as punch.

He’s also very nearly finished Lottie’s room and by tomorrow I shall have the measurements of both beds to enable me to order the mattresses to fit exactly. I’ll be a returning customer to TruSleep for those as I can honestly say I’ve not slept on a better mattress in my whole life!

The dream is nearly reality! :D

Being that I had no prior ‘soul’ engagements this weekend Lottie and I visited the boat.
We’d not had an update from our boat fitter this week and I think that’s due to the work being electrical and not much difference to show photo wise except for the cupboard doors being fitted and the bathroom sink/loo.
We left the house at around 11.30am and arrived back home at 9.30pm. What an exhausting day!
By the time we’d arrived at the Marina the rain was steady and coming straight down. We excitedly let ourselves in the front door and stood in the lounge area taking it all in.
And just look at my gorgeous counter top sink! Doesn’t take much to turn me on these days :D
Anyway, Lottie and I discussed soft furnishings and have agreed on velvet curtains for the lounge/galley. I’m wanting to keep it homely yet luxurious so a deep burgundy velvet with some gold will do the trick I reckon. I’ve already bought my new bedding and that is also deep reds, burgundy, gold and cream. Lush!
We dined at the Beef and Barge before heading North West to Bristol. Ikea was our next stop. The weather was absolutely atrocious! Visibility was so bad I arrived at Ikea with a headache which is very unusual for me. Trying to find the fucking entrance to the place was like a task from the Krypton Factor. Eventually after 3 attempts we found ourselves at the back gates. It was swinging open in the wind with bollards blocking the way. I kicked Lottie out of the car in the pouring rain to move the bollards and keep the gate open. I bumped the car over the hump and drove on in. Lottie was laughing uncontrollably at this point and we both let out a sigh of relief as we parked up and hurried inside out of the rain.
We had fun choosing new glassware and a few other bits and bobs including two umbrellas! Some nice red and chocolate scented candles; a mosaic bathroom mirror; some mirror tiles for Lottie’s room; 4 cushion pads and some lovely over-sized white china cups. Oh, and we also purchased a few Christmas decorations. Well, it’s Christmas soon!
The drive home was tedious and difficult in the rain. The roads are winding and very very dark. I was glad to get home!
So, what’s left? The completion of the shower room, Lottie’s room and the tongue and groove walling. Then it’ll be down to me to do the finishing touches such as walls and curtains etc.

Another very much appreciated update landed in my email box last night. He’s cracked on and has completed my corner seating and bed and galley. He says the door and drawer fronts are due in this week as they’ve been specially made. That’ll really make a difference once they’re on but I’m very impressed with his carpentry. I can’t believe I’m seeing what were only visions in my head that I wrote down in an email to him. He’s either a mind reader or fully understood my commission (not sure how as I did twitter on as only women can lol).
The quality of Myram Carpentry’s work is plain to see! Cheers Bryan! :)
The bestest thing about these email updates is that so far I’ve not had to make the 2 hour journey to go have a look. It means I’m not disturbing a man and his work. Mind you, I’ve been attending a lot of rare soul all-nighters lately so spend the Saturday/Sunday travelling up North, dancing and recuperating :D
