*@#&ing Blighters!

May24

Ok, I admit it!  The one ‘thing’ I failed to consider when buying a boat was this….. GNATS!

Why oh why didn’t it register that water bares the fruit of flying things that have one aim in life; to eat you alive.  At this point I have to convey my utmost thanks to Jill for leaving not one but TWO cans of fly spray because this evening they’ve been invaluable.

A glass of Sauvignon Blanc in one hand and a can of fookin Raid in the other

I’m also surrounded by a circle of Citronella candles to fend the critters off – it’s reminiscent of a scene out of some horror movie where I’m trying to ward off the evils of Voodoo!.

I’m not complaining at all though… the weather has been absolutely glorious and I’m sporting a rather nice leathery tan.  Plus of course I’ve had the added bonus of being on the tranquil sun glittered waters.  It reminds me of diamonds… or for the less financially adorned of us, like me, Swarovski Crystals

Even my poor old signwriter had to leave early today due to the sweltering heat that melted him and hardened his paint before his stroke had ended.  He returned in the evening when the temperature was at a functional level.

He finishes tomorrow; and I’m still amazed at his artistry.

Talking of artists… I visited a chiropractor to get myself manipulated… I’ve been getting a numb right hand and a ‘cracking’ neck… what made me laugh was a line from his report that read:  “Mrs Bridges admits to surfing the net on a laptop for ten hours a day and once a week dances energetically through the night” :w00t:

However, the best quote of the whole weekend was from my recent patronage to the famed 100 club last weekend from a mate who’s comedy gold who said “The last thing I remember was my tea tasting funny and waking up in a wardrobe with a tangerine in my mouth.”

That really tickled me and brought home how much many of us are reliant on the internet.  No, I don’t surf randomly, I own several websites that need ‘webmastering’ and with a laptop can do it in the garden, on the loo, in the lounge, in the cratch and stood on my head!  OK, not the latter these days but you get my drift.  It’s like being in a pub permanently drinking Lemonade!

I’m Bowled Over!

The signwriter returned and completed the first panel.  What a bloody amazing job!  I have no hesitation in recommending his skills to anyone out there looking for a brilliant, sensibly priced artist.  Kudos to you Dr Steele; I’m well made up! :w00t:
