6 Months Of Bliss!

June17

Can you believe it?  We’re now 6 months into our new lives and loving it.

It’s been easy, stress free and idyllic…  I’ve learned a lot, given up smoking without wanting to and used muscles I’ve not used in a long time hauling coal bags

The only two main differences, for me anyway, of living on a boat is the emptying of the loo and the filling of the water tank… oh, and feeding an electric meter which I’ve never done in my life before now.  Minor irritations not worthy of complaint.

From freezing sub-zero conditions similar to Siberia to the fresh balmy breezes of a Maldivian Summer; I’ve had the privilege of experiencing the Season’s as they’ve come and gone.  I’ve made new friends along the way too.

I’ve spent more than I initially planned but the additional expenses were on little things that make our lives more comfortable in a small space.  I couldn’t have done it without Bryan’s help (Myram Carpentry) so a massive thanks to him and his tireless attention to detail, and brilliant workmanship.

We’re now waiting on a man to visit and affix/weld two high seats on the back so we can relax when cruising… I did find standing all the time quite taxing on my lower back especially stood still.  The high stools will alleviate that problem and help me see better over the front of the boat coz I’m only ickle.

We’re taking her out again this Sunday for the day so I’ll blog again with some sunny photographs of our journey and decadent luncheon

Take care with the seats, you could find that sitting and leaning slightly to the tiller could make your back worse. I can’t sit on the roof to steer as my back starts playing up in minutes

My arm wouldn’t reach the tiller if I sat on the roof :)
